Every office visit at Dogwood Animal Hospital starts with a physical examination. Obtaining basic health parameters such as weight and body temperature allow us to document and track health trends with your pet over many years. Abnormalities such as heart murmurs, enlarged lymph nodes, dental disease, and cancerous growths can be caught during routine physicals. Catching these problems early will help ensure that your pet stays healthy!
Since pets cannot tell us about their health concerns, we rely heavily on our time during office visits with you, the pet owners, to fill in the gaps left by a general physical exam. Make note of any recent changes in your pet's behavior such as increased water consumption, increased urinations, loss of appetite or any lumps and bumps.
